G.222/C-27A

The medium twin turbo-prop airlifter flew for the first time in 1970 and over 100 were built (including SIGINT and EW variants).

Alenia Aermacchi will continue to support some 30 G222 for the next 10-15 year, largely under contracts with the US Governement (for the Afghan Air Force) and the Nigerian Air Foce.
